Equipment for work with paint removers

APPLICATION

Airless spraying setup

For treatment of larger areas we recommend coating method using the apparatus of airless spraying GRACO Merkur. With this method of application, a uniform layer of paint remover is obtained, which does not flow down from the horizontal surface, and labor costs are significantly reduced. To reduce human exposure to the aerosol cloud produced when spraying remover by the airless application, use a gun with the "extension spray gun". When applying the spraying method, do not allow the formation of fine aerosol. It is recommended to use spray nozzles from 0.019 to 0.025 inches (0.48-0.63 mm) with a spray angle of 40°-60° for example GRACO 619-625, 519-525, 419-425, depending on the pressure in the transport hose; apply a flush at the minimum convenient pressure in the transport hose. Check the resistance of the materials of the spraying system to paint remover (in particular, the transport hoses and seals). It is recommended to use the following materials: polyethylene, polypropylene, Teflon and some fluorcarbons.

Brushes

In most cases, it is recommended to apply the paint remover with special brushes of different sizes. Brush material should not react with a paint remover, pay attention to this. In order to minimize the possibility of contact with the paint remover it is recommended to extend the brush handle with a special extender. When using a brush, it is recommended to apply a paint remover in one motion in one direction to reduce evaporation of the active components of paint remover.

Tanks with hermetic cap for dipping method

For soaking parts (wheels) before the subsequent shot blasting is recommended to use a container with a sealed lid. The container material should not deteriorate from exposure to paint remover: polyethylene, polypropylene, PTFE, fluorcarbons, stainless steel.

REMOVING PAINT

Spatulas

Removal of peeling paint and paint remover residues, as well as application of paint remover in some cases, it is recommended to use metal or textolite spatulas. When choosing a spatula and when working with it, it is necessary to avoid damage to the surface from which the paint is removed. With proper operation with the paint remover of special efforts to remove the paint is not required, it is easy to move away, and with vertical surfaces falls off and falls under its own weight.

The removal with water under pressure

To remove paint residues from large surfaces and where there is a cleaning of process effluents, you can use the installation of Kercher or similar. It is better to use warm water for this purpose. Direct the water jet at an angle to the surface.

Combined method

Also, for a number of paint removal tasks, a COMBINED METHOD can be used. All recommendations for its use you can get from our managers.

mask

Masks and half-masks

  •     Full face mask with insulating front part and replaceable filters of 3M 6000: 6700/6800/6900 series.
  •     Half mask with insulating front part and replaceable filters of 3M 6000: 3M 6100/6200/6300 series.
  •     Half mask with insulating front part and replaceable filters of 3M 7500: 3M 7501/7502/7503 series.

Filters

  •       To work with our paint removers it is necessary to use filters 6059 for organic vapors, acid gases, ammonia ABEK.

Gloves

  •     Gloves from polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) perfectly protect hands from influence of aggressive organic solvents. These gloves are not applicable in aquatic environments. They are excellent hand protection against APS-A and APS-M type paint removers (based on methylene chloride).

  •     For APS-Eco you must apply the acid and alkali resistant gloves.

For more information on the use of PPE and the possibility of their acquisition, please contact our managers.
